Keyboards integrated into the palmrest.

Some laptop keyboards are expensive to renew because they are integrated into the palmrest, meaning the keyboard and palmrest are designed as a single unit. When one part fails or gets damaged, you often have to replace the entire assembly rather than just the keyboard, which increases costs. Additionally, the labor involved in disassembling and reassembling the laptop to replace these integrated parts is more complex, driving up the repair cost. This design choice, while sleek, prioritizes aesthetics and compactness over ease of maintenance.

Sometimes you will see parts listings like the one below but the problem with them is the repair will never lead to a satisfactory repair.
